On 31 July, AEA held a farewell party for a group of Japanese High school students. This group has been coming to AEA for more than 10 years and homestay families were also invited to celebrate the end of the group’s 2 weeks summer holiday programme. We wish them a safe trip back and all the best for their future.

As part of AEA’s Friday afternoon activities, our teacher James has started a photography class. On 23 May, the class went for photowalk to Auckland Domain and below are the beautiful pictures taken by our students and teacher.
Last Friday our dear students Pedro Reyes and Betty Muñoz showed us how beautiful is Latin music and dance is. They did a great job on the dance floor!
It was contagious and didn’t take long until all the students and teachers were getting involved and giving it a go. Step by step Pedro was slowly showing us how to do it and after all, he said it was more about the music, we should be FEELING it and not just LISTENING to it!
We were trying hard, but Pedro was right, if you close your eyes and let the song take you over, before long you realize your body is responding to it, as I said before: CONTAGIOUS!
We had fun, we had laughs, we became closer friends and even exercised a lot. Music and dance really brings people together and this is what happened at AEA.
I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge THANK YOU to Pedro and Beatriz, they were here for 3 months and they were amazing students bringing happiness to their friends and teachers. It was a pleasure to have you here and we are going to miss you a lot!
Coming back to Salsa, Auckland has a few Dance Schools offering classes. Visit any Salsa club in the world, and you are likely to be received with open arms. People who do Salsa share very strong bonds, probably because the dance brings out the warmth and passion in you.
