English New Zealand quality audit a success
AEA has once again met all six of English New Zealand’s quality assurance standards. The standards, which relate to academic staff, curriculum, assessment, premises and equipment, complaints, and self-assessment, must be met every four years in order for a school to retain membership of English New Zealand. The 2013 audit report for AEA was very favor able. Amongst other things, it commented on the experience of the teachers and the professional development that helps them maintain their teaching quality. The report recognized the Individual Learning Plans, which are a key feature of AEA courses. Students told the auditors that teachers give them ideas on how to improve their English outside the classroom. This is pleasing to hear. One of our aims is to teach students to learn independently so that they can continue to improve after they have left AEA.The report was very positive about AEA’s performance in all areas and confirms that we are doing a very good job.
