AEA Category 1 School – Work rights for AEA students
Following recent EERs, we are delighted to say that both Auckland English Academy and New Horizon College of English are Category 1 schools. This means students enrolled for courses of 14 weeks or longer can work part time up to 20 hours per week. Students on an AEA visa are now eligible for work rights. Students wanting to study Communication English or IELTS for 14 weeks or more at AEA can work up to 20 hours per week. AEA’s Category One status has recently been published on the NZQA website – the accompanying report describes AEA courses and teaching as ‘excellent’. Those students who want to work during the day will find our evening courses attractive. And anyone thinking about applying for a job should consider joining our Employment Skills English course, where they will learn about New Zealand workplaces and how to look for an apply for a job, while also developing their communication English skills For more information, please contact our sales and marketing team.
